Bluesky has unveiled Attie, an AI-powered application that hands algorithmic control directly to users. Announced at the ATmosphere conference by founder Jay Graber, Attie is built on the AT Protocol and powered by Anthropic's Claude.

Users interact conversationally: "Show me electronic music from people in my network" becomes a working feed.

"They're using AI to increase the time users spend on-platform, to harvest training data, and to shape what users see and believe," said Jay Graber, articulating how Attie differs from mainstream platforms.

Attie launched in private beta. Early reception has been mixed, with enthusiasts praising open-protocol AI while skeptics question scalability.

“Users should decide what their algorithm optimizes for, not a corporation.”
